Suzan (Clements) Quinn

July 12, 1942 ~ June 13, 2021 (age 78)

Suzan Quinn

After a profoundly heartfelt and sorrow filled goodbye with her closest family members, Suzan Quinn passed away peacefully on the evening of June 13th, 2021. Just one month shy of her 79th birthday Suzan succumbed to a barrage of complications of advanced lung cancer.  Suzan was born on July 12, 1942, to loving parents Ronald and Peggy Clements, as a younger sister to Jill. Born in Oxford, England, Suzan and family immigrated and set roots in Canada in the early 60s. At eighteen Suzan married Francis (Frank) Quinn and raised their sons, Stephen, David, and Peter.  Frank and Sue raised their boys with both love and respect and as the boys grew older and had children of their own, their hearts grew larger, extending their love to each arriving grandchild.  Sadly, Frank passed away suddenly in 2007. Sue is survived by her 3 sons, 10 grandchildren, and soon to be 6 great grandchildren

Despite the devastating loss of her husband, Sue continued to live and manage the large family home where they had settled in the early 1990’s.  She continued her love of traditional Sunday suppers with family which almost always included a roast, Yorkshire puddings, potatoes, and a favorite vegetable for each member of the family. You cannot speak of her without mentioning her phenomenal love and ability to knit.  She had one room of the house dedicated to wool.  As she moved from one Canadian city to another during her adulthood, she would quickly seek out a local “stitch and bitch” group and make new friends quickly.

If you were lucky enough to have known Sue, you knew her for her compassion, her ability to adapt, her smile and her love of travel, friends, family, wine and helping others through their hardships.

Sue, Mom, Gran, Great-Gran, we can only hope your soul will live on in the hearts of those you have touched; you will forever be missed and always loved.

If donations are offered in her memory, please direct them to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Foundation or a national lung or breast cancer research organization.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday September 6th at Valley Croft Event Centre, 754 Horseshoe Valley Road West, Coldwater, Ontario from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
