Pearl Irene Richards 1925 - 2020 - It is with heartfelt sadness to announce the passing of our mother, Pearl Richards. We will miss her dearly, but draw comfort in knowing that she lived a long and beautiful life, and will be with our sister Shaylene. Pearl Irene Richards, 95 passed away on 28-June-2020 at Roberta Place Nursing Home in Barrie, Ontario. She battled dementia for the past 5 years, but even though she wasn’t always in the present, she was usually in a happy place. She was born on June 3, 1925 in Casey Township, Ontario (Belle Valley) to Henry and Lavina (Preedy) Richards. Pearl grew up in New Liskeard, Ontario. After graduating high school, she began work for Bank of Nova Scotia and always spoke proudly of the fact that she was given the opportunity to work because all the men had gone to war. Of course, when Shaylene was born, in 1945, the war was over and she quit banking and stayed home to raise her children. Pearl married Jean Marcel Sauvé in 1943 in New Liskeard, Ontario. They were married for 29 years before they divorced in 1972. Pearl remarried in 1978 to Jack Eugene Richards in Hamilton, Ontario. Pearl was a regular contributor to the Trans-Canada Trail. She enjoyed playing darts, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lavina, brothers and sisters Norman, Almeda, Clayton, John, and Robert, her first husband Marcel, and second husband Jack, and her daughter Shaylene. Pearl is survived by her son Richard (Louise) Sauvé, and daughter Catherine Sauvé (Robert McConnell); her sisters Annabelle and Sandra, and brother Gordon (Pat) Richards; and seven grandchildren; Leslie (Kurt) Mask, Jamie (Sandra) Muir, Danielle (Steve) Nazarian, Jean-Paul Sauvé, Pamela (Neil) Blanchet, Michael (Valerie) Czerwinski, Andrew (Samantha) Valade; and ten great-grandchildren; Nick and Sarah Mask, Amelia and Talya Nazarian, Liam and Daelynn Blanchet, Indiana and Maverick Czerwinski, Nevehan and Maezlyn Valade.
