ARNBERG, Gail Maureen (Gourley) May 22, 1953 - June 30, 2017
It is with deep and profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear mother, Gail Maureen Arnberg (nee Gourley) age 64 years, who passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario on Friday, June 30, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Gail spent her final hour outside and took her last breaths on the garden-patio at Hospice Simcoe looking up at the beautiful blue sky, and her path to heaven. She was surrounded by so much love with her family all around her. Originally born in Thunder Bay (Fort William), Gail lived there until 1993, when she and her husband Bruce relocated to St. Catharines. In 2009 Gail moved to Barrie, to be closer to family...especially her grand-babies. Gail is survived by her husband, Bruce Arnberg of Thunder Bay, son, Doug Arnberg (Mireille) of Courtice, daughter, Shara Hancock (Dennis) of Midhurst, daughter Amanda Bisignano (Bryan) of Barrie, and her five cherished grandchildren, Troy (16), Lauren (12) and Lily (9) Hancock, and Sophia (11), Grace (8) Bisignano. These children were the light in her life! She is also survived by her special brother John Gourley (Shannon) and brother Brian Gourley, both of Thunder Bay, as well as a large extended family that include many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Gail is pre-deceased by her father, George Gourley (2003), Mother, Maureen Gourley (Balina) (2015), Sister, Patricia Gourley (2006), as well as several special aunts, uncles and cousins. It was Gail's wishes to have cremation take place followed by a small Celebration of Life service. Internment will take place with immediate family at a later date. In memory of Gail, donations made to Hospice Simcoe in Barrie (www.hospicesimcoe.ca/donating) would be greatly appreciated, it is a wonderful place that made a huge difference in Gail's life, they truly help people "live until they die".
